Evacuee Registration

Information for individuals being affected by an ongoing incident

First, ensure these two steps are completed!

Completing these two steps ensures officials can communicate directly with those who are directly affected.

Step 1

Ensure you text the word EVAC to 888777.

Step 2

Complete the Evacuee Registration form.

Supplemental Information

New expanding incidents can time for officials to get their hands around.  This often means officials aren’t capable to pushing updates on the incident as quickly as everyone would like.  Completing the information above helps officials to directly push information to those who are affected as soon as they can.

Additional Information

This varies based on the location of the incident.  Officials will push updates and locations for additional information to those who have registered above.  Please don’t call 911 for updates.  Officials realize the challenges and need for information for those affected, but if officials have not pushed out updates, the 911 center also doesn’t have any answers.

How do Warnings, Shelter-in-Place and Evacuations work

Gallatin County utilizes a two-step process. When a situation arises that could adversely affect people, a Warning is issued. Then, either the situation resolves itself, or it gets worse.

If the situation worsens, either a Shelter-in-Place or Evacuation Order will be issued. Shelter-in-Place means it is safer to stay inside where you are and individuals should not go outside. Evacuation means it is safer to leave, and you should leave now. Learn more about this full process at on our Evacuation Process page.
